Department Finance This position functions as the Accounting Manager in the Finance Department between both The W French Quarter and Le Meridien New Orleans Job Description The Complex Accounting Manager supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data, for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. This position is part of a complex structure, supporting Le Meriden & W French Quarter ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *Perform monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and clear all reconciling items on a timely basis. *Prepare all monthly journal entries necessary to complete monthly financial statements, including monthly report to all owners. *Supervise Income Audit and General Cashier. *Prepare monthly sales tax returns. *Special projects. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel: *Research accounts payable statements for reconcile discrepancies. *Complete Starwood productivity measurements. *Monitor and review hotel control policies. *Monitor inventory levels and controls. *Additional duties as necessary and assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS *Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. *Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education High school or equivalent education required. Bachelors Degree preferred. Experience One to two years accounting experience.
