We currently havean opportunity for an on-siteAffordable Housing Compliance Specialist. We are looking for a dynamic, team-oriented individual to join our team at Meadowbrook Apartments (448 units). The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for monitoring regulatory compliance and facilitating associate education atour community.ResponsibilitiesMonitors income qualified households by way of file pre-approvals, to ensure affordability levels are maintained, applicable rents and utility allowances are in place. Audits and ensures that resident files contain required verifications and acceptable documentations. Interview residents for A/R, I/R's and process paperwork. Ensure company tracking reports and Agency reporting is current and accurately maintained. Coordinate response and if necessary, corrections for MOR, LIHTC audit findings. Review 50059 to ensure vouchers are being transmitted correctly. Prepare and submit AFHMP and TSP when required. LURA document review and matrix set up on new properties. Monitor and confirm UA on a quarterly basis. Conduct periodic site staff training on USRG policy and applicable programs. Assists the Director of Compliance with special projects as needed.QualificationsMust possess a thorough knowledge of HUD and Tax Credit affordable housing programs. Hands-on experience with the affordable income qualification requirements and processes, tax credit, HUD and section 8; must be extremely familiar with HUD TRACS, EIV and certifications to assist property management in compliance issues. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required. Tax credit certification and property management experience preferred. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment. Computer Skills Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer; knowledge of One Site and Yardi preferred; advanced experience with state reporting websites. Ability to read and interpret complex documents, such as regulatory agreements and compliance regulations, tenant files, etc. Able to work as an effective member of a team and in a collaborative manner with staff, peers, and supervisor. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical assistance on complex compliance issues in a simple, straightforward manner.
