COMPUTER OPERATOR II (RIA-16-1514-F): Bowhead seeks a Computer Operator II to provide computer systems technical support to end users with software configurations, computer system hardware troubleshooting and repair. The Computer Operator has technical knowledge including Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite software, preferably MS 2013. The Computer Operator resolves common operating problems and provides customer service to end users relative to system functionality. May assist a more senior technician. The technician must be skilled in adhering to technical direction, completing scheduled work on time, and remaining within the scope of duties; knowing when to escalate incidents and when to provide communication. Should be customer oriented and have the ability to listen to customers, understand technical issues, and be able to communicate technical solutions in layman's terms. Bowhead provides IT support to over 5000 customers at Rock Island Arsenal, \\"the home of U.S. Army logistics\\" and site of the Department of Defense's only fully-integrated manufacturing facility and only remaining foundry. The work our customers do in manufacturing, logistics, contracting, Reserve Component training, and other support services has a direct impact on Soldiers in the U.S. and abroad. Requirements CERTIFICATIONS: DoD 8570 Security + (or higher certification) Windows 7 Operating System Certification (within 6 months of hire). -- Associates Degree PLUS two (2) years direct related experience as a Computer Technician. -- Requires technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, of Microsoft Office Suites 2013, of peripherals, including printers and scanners, and of the application of software patching. -- Requires ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. -- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, excellent written/verbal communication skills required. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. DESIRED SKILLS: -- Understanding of TCP/IP. -- Experience with Network Printer configuration/patching. -- Microsoft Office Suites 2013 experience plus peripherals, including printers and scanners, and of the application of software patching. CLEARANCE: Secret Security Clearance PLUS the ability to maintain access to government/military installations. US Citizenship is a requirement for access to this military installation. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires sitting in a climate controlled office environment for long periods with occasional walking and climbing stairs. Requires an extensive amount of time viewing a computer monitor. Work is located in multiple buildings on the same site and travel between buildings (regardless of the weather) is required. Occasionally lifts up to 35 lbs.
