COMPUTER VISION R&D SCIENTIST



Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., Michigan, near Ann Arbor, MI, this role will be responsible for developing computer vision solutions for autonomous vehicles. The Computer Vision R&D Scientist will also be responsible for multidisciplinary team interaction, work with out of the shelf computer vision solutions, as well as, develop novel computer vision algorithms. Keep documentation updated and publish results internally. They will also work with the team to develop and establish computer vision workflow for ADAS systems. The job requires hands-on work and field testing.



Typical Duties

* Develop computer vision solutions for autonomous vehicles.

* Generate technical documents and reports for internal distribution

* Generate intellectual property related to computer vision applications

* Experiment with novel computer vision algorithms

* Feel comfortable to work in a multicultural environment

* Interact with a multidisciplinary team and work together for common goals

* Evaluate computer vision third party solutions

* Generate test plans to be executed by a testing team



Requirements

Required: PhD or MSc in computer vision or related field in an electronics, technology or automotive environment or at least five (5) years of demonstrable R&D experience(including publications).



* Develop computer vision solutions for autonomous vehicles.

* Generate technical documents and reports for internal distribution

* Generate intellectual property related to computer vision applications

* Experiment with novel computer vision algorithms

* Interact with a multidisciplinary team and work together for common goals

* Evaluate computer vision third party solutions

* Generate test plans to be executed by a testing team



Degree Required: PhD or MSc in Computer vision or related field.



Desired Competencies/Experience

* PhD or MSc in computer vision or related field.

* Demonstrated experience solving computer vision problems (papers or publications).

* Experience on going from abstract mathematical / algorithmic models to practical implementations

* Experience on feature detection, feature matching , feature based alignment, stereo correspondence, structure from motion, 3D reconstruction , dense motion estimation , image recognition and tracking.

* Experience on using machine learning methods applied to computer vision problems.

* Good programming skills in C/C++

* Good programming skills in Python

* Expertise in the use of OpenCV

* Expertise in Matlab, R and/or Mathematica

* Programming experience in Linux and Window environments

* Strong background on parallel processing and high performance computing

* CUDA programming experience

* OpenCL programming experience is a plus.
