Description Make a DifferenceConstruction Engineeer/Area SpecialistWashington, DC Parsons offers the U.S. Government qualified and clearable personnel to solve engineering, construction, facility, intelligence, environmental, and information technology needs. Our staff has supported mission critical, homeland security, installation/base optimization, range sustainability, space exploration, unexploded ordnance clean-up, missile defense, and disaster relief programs. The Area Construction Engineer/Specialist performs project management duties including; construction monitoring, quality inspections, general coordination, performance documentation and reporting for federal facility modernization projects ocurring at multiple sites in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include; design and technical submittal reviews, construction surveillance for conformance with construction drawings and specifications, resolution of construction issues, supervision of field staff, customer interface, performance measurement, and direct support for building commissioning. This position requires extensive knowledge of facility HVAC, Controls, and Electrical systems. Qualifications 4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 8 to 12 years of experience in field construction is required. Major facility renovation renovation experience in a PM/CM capacity is preferred. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills and a familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with construction. Work schedule is 40 hrs, 5 days/week between the hours of 6PM to 6AM. Periodic, compensated weekend work may also be required. Ability to obtain a security clearance for Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) work in federal buildings.
