Kleinfelder's Construction Materials Engineering & Testing (CoMET) group in our Western PA Region is seeking a Construction Field Supervisor / Coordinator. The position would primarily serve as a Field Supervisor in the Eastern Region of Ohio working on large, oil and gas construction projects.
The candidate should possess the ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively, along with a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment.
A can-do attitude and problem-solving mindset is essential.
Our Field Supervisor will oversee a group of quality assurance field staff working in remote locations for oil and gas development projects. The supervisor will assist with the coordination, scheduling, and training of the field staff performing construction oversight field activities such as:
* Compaction testing; Proofrolling; assessing suitability of soils,
* Concrete testing; Foundation observations; Reinforcing steel observations, and
* Daily quantities of materials.
This position will also provide direct oversight and supervision of multiple sites to assist with the assessment of site conditions and issues as they arise. The supervisor should be able to perform routine quality assurance field and laboratory tests and provide construction oversight for the purpose of verifying conformance with construction plans and specifications.
The successful candidate must be able to follow written procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of clear and concise verbal and written communications (i.e. preparing daily reports and test results), have the ability to operate with moderate supervision and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Construction Materials Engineering & Testing and Special Inspections, with some supervisory responsibilities is preferred. Nuclear gauge and Hazmat training is required. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience with:
* Geotechnical exploration and logging
* Storm water management inspections, and
* Verifying as-built conditions with surveying support.
Preference will be given to those with a background in oil and gas facility construction processes. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel is required.
