JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center (CFWSC) is one of 48 Water Science Centers in the Water Resources Discipline of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The Water Science Center's mission is to collect, analyze and disseminate the impartial hydrologic data and information needed to wisely manage water resources for the people of the United States and the State of Florida.
We are in need of a Hydrologic Technician with a construction background to help support the efforts of the USGS CFWSC.
• Assist USGS senior technician with installation of water monitoring gauges
• Assist with construction of basic docks and/or platforms
• Assist with demolition and removal of hydrologic structures when necessary
• Associates Degree in construction or a scientific discipline
• Hands-on construction experience
• Experience with hydrology desired
• Ability to work under adverse weather conditions
• Knowledge of safety procedures
