Our client, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition and program management.

We are looking for a seasoned construction manager to assist in managing all aspects of acquisition and project execution as a design/construction agent for AFCEC projects located at the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.


Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and utilize standard engineering methods and techniques used on construction projects of limited size and complexity
• Perform technical review and advisory/assistance for AFCEC design and construction projects
• Prepare requirements documents (i.e. statements of work, cost estimates, lists of project deliverables, etc.) for design and construction contract documents packages
• Oversee construction (not all site management) to ensure inspection practices and procedures involved in the inspection of building materials, workmanship, utilities, and the installation of systems are followed
• Oversee construction to ensure safety practices in the construction industry are followed
• Some travel may be required (up to 15%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Engineering (civil, mechanical or electrical), Construction Management, Project Management or Registered Architect (an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be considered to substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree)
• Minimum 11 years of relevant experience (with USAF or military preferred; relevant technical certifications can be substituted for three years’ experience)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, blueprints and architectural plans and specifications
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) or have an active CAC or active clearance.
