Responsibilities:The Principal Consultant, Construction Planning reports directly to the VP of Construction and is a strategy partner driving and implementing innovative strategies and initiatives for the Design and Construction department, creating cost effective project plans and developing schedules for completion of projects. Special projects will include designing, planning and implementing of major multi-store initiatives that affect a large number of locations on a regional or national level. Develops the processes and protocols to ensure successful capital plan implementation, with a strong focus on innovation, efficiency, accountability and project controls resulting in on time and on budget project delivery. The incumbent will collaborate with internal departments to develop and manage multi-million dollar capital budgets for Design and Construction special projects. Utilizing industry knowledge and proven cost estimating procedures establishes project budgets for approval. Manages all financial aspects of project budget to ensure timely completion and delivery within budget.


Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Architecture or Engineering Degree preferred


Other Information:Minimum of seven years of experience managing and driving architectural design, construction or PMO processes with demonstration of increased levels of responsibilityMinimum of seven years of experience managing and driving architectural design, construction or PMO processes with demonstration of increased levels of responsibility
Architectural design, Construction management and or project management experience
Six Sigma training or certification preferred
Expert PowerPoint user
Expert Excel User
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
Strong attention to detail and process.
Demonstrated proficiency in these areas:
estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, contract negotiations, interpersonal skills, computer skills, safety/insurance, ability to communicate, both written and oral
