MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) chartered to develop advanced technology in support of national security. MIT Lincoln Laboratory is located on Hanscom Air Force Base in Lexington MA and operates in a physical plant consisting of 37 buildings with approximately 2 million sq. feet of office, laboratory and secure research space. The Laboratory works with government and industry to transition new concepts, technology and prototypes into future system development and deployment.

Position Summary

The Contracting Service Department is seeking a Construction Team Lead with a minimum of five (5) – seven (7) years of experience in construction, design, architect and engineering procurement to include working knowledge of the FAR/DFARs, sourcing, pricing, negotiation, awarding and documenting. The successful candidate must have experience with construction and architect and engineering procurement. The Team Lead will assume a prominent role on the Laboratory’s Construction Procurement team and will interact extensively with architects, projects managers, field engineers and supplier representatives. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, soliciting, administering and close out of construction related procurements. The successful candidate will be expected to provide professional & courteous customer service to clients via phone and email interaction.


BS or MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Minimum of 5 years of Construction Contracting experience required; DoD Contracts experience a plus
Must have experience with construction and architect/engineering procurement
Advanced experience of construction contracts a plus
Experience with the entire construction project life cycle
Must possess working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation
Professional certification in Purchasing or Government Contracting is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
SAP procurement experience highly desirable as well as on-line PO documentation tools
Candidate should have the ability to negotiate favorable pricing and terms and conditions
Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally within a cross-functional environment required
Ability to obtain and maintain a government DoD security clearance required
