Fans 1st Media is looking for a Y chromosome-conscious Content Editor who isn t afraid to go beast mode on topics tailored like a Brooks Brothers suit for the common man. We re talking cars, sports, girls, music, fitness, outdoors and whatever else gets guys juiced about being guys.
The editor must know how to expertly navigate the new socially driven media landscape like Lewis and Clark on Adderall, with a particular focus on generating and distributing content via Facebook channels. Because Mark Zuckerberg knows what s up.
Demonstrated ability to attract and engage a male audience using social media tools and with both long-and short-form writing
Knack for seeing tomorrow s big story today
A passion for the topics we cover and the audience we serve. Experience writing for a majority-male audience -- interest in cars and sports a plus
Keen sense of the competitive landscape and actionable ideas for standing out from the crowd
Keen sense of standard media biases and tropes and a passion for dissecting and dismantling partisan talking points
Experience in headline writing for socially sharable content
An independent spirit that thrives in a startup environment can make decisions quickly and can handle several tasks at once
Experience in writing stories in a timely manner
1-2 years experience blogging, writing or editing in a newsroom or team environment is preferred
