JOB DESCRIPTION

The Continuous Improvement/Warehouse Manager will be responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to develop a strategy and plan for continuous improvement by leveraging methodologies and best practices that maximize the efficiency of the warehouse storage area and manufacturing floor and will drive sustainable work-flow improvements. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing an inventory of ~5MM and leading a staff of Warehouse employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Utilize Lean/Six Sigma skills and knowledge to evaluate warehouse and production work-flow/assembly methods and identify and prioritize areas of process improvement that will drive sustainable improvements
* Communicate to key stakeholders on the status of continuous improvement projects
* Establish a culture of Lean/Six Sigma to ensure that improvement projects are understood, implemented and sustained through organized trainings
* Utilize project management skills to effectively track projects
* Maximize efficiency of warehouse storage area and manufacturing floor by organizing floor space
* Manage cycle count and reconcile variances
* Define and maintain visual management techniques for key performance indexes (KPI's) and implement actions to address deviations
* Maximize team efficiency through effective coaching, team building, and mentoring
* Perform employee appraisals for recommending merit increases, promotions, or awards and taking appropriate disciplinary action as necessary
* Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
* Interface and coordinate domestic and international freight routings with carriers, schedulers and vendors
* Negotiate advantageous freight rates with preferred carriers
* Perform all functions of warehouse personnel including operation of forklift as necessary
* Follow all company safety practices and demonstrate commitment to safety
* Follow and maintain, as necessary, all procedures according to ISO and A2LA documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or related field required
* Minimum 7years progressive experience in operations required; electronics manufacturing environment preferred

* Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent required

* 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
* Logistics background/experience preferred

* Proven ability to be an effective change agent and successfully influence cross-functional teams
* Strong familiarity with ERP and Lean Manufacturing systems required
* Strong analytical / problem solving skills
* Strong Project Management skills required
* Demonstrated record of delivering transformational operational improvements

* Ability to handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities while employing effective time management skills
* Must be able to learn quickly and maintain a positive attitude
* Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills required
* Experience in an ISO certified environment
