* Assists in directing the organization's accounting functions
* Establishes and maintains the organization's accounting principles, practices and procedures
* Oversees the preparation and evaluation of budgets and other financial operating reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management
* Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
* Maintain and updates established costing system and evaluation process and presents executive management with results
* Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
* Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
* Manages organizational cash flow, budgets and forecasting
* Provides status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data
* Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
* Reports organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts
* Coordinates and leads the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the board of directors; assess any changes necessary. Files quarterly tax returns as needed
* Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively
* Keeps-up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance
* Act as primary contact with commercial property and general liability broker
* Performs a variety of other tasks


* Bachelor's degree in business, financial or related field or equivalent with business necessity is required
* 6 - 8 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience
* The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area
* Ability to translate financial concepts to - and to effectively collaborate with - operational colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
* A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
* Computer proficiency (MS Office - Dynamics, Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
