Large manufacturing company is in need of a Controller.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. Actively analyzes and interprets data to generate management information useful to optimizing the performance of the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Manages the books of the Company, the monthly closing, the reconciliation of G/L accounts and bank statements, the maintenance of fixed asset ledgers, the preparation of financial statements and the establishment and maintenance of all appropriate accruals and reserves.
? Guides financial and operating decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures; collecting, and reporting financial data; collecting, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting information and trends.
? Analyzes results and develops management information to support and guide all departments of the Company including sales, production and operations. Provides recommendations for improvement.
? Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
? Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
? Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
? Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
? Manages the A/R aging, collection process/procedures, and collection lawsuits.
? Maintains financial staff (A/R and A/P) by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
? Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees and by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
? Initiates and maintains active communication with all departments of the Company.
? Prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
? Prepares and submits periodic financial reporting for banking relationships
? Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration preferably in Accounting or Finance. Masters Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting and/or CPA preferred.
Must have at least Five (5) years of financial management and supervisory experience in the capacity of a Controller or Director of Finance.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Self starter, motivated to analyze results and operations and formulate recommendations for improvement.
Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel and strong familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have and maintain a valid California Class C drivers? license with acceptable driving record determined by the company?s insurance carrier
