We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Controls Engineer for our client in Syracuse, NY. Exciting opportunity, great company, outstanding culture! The company has been providing customers with engineering, system integration and fabrication solutions for 34+ years. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of engineering process from conception through completion ("cradle to grave").

The Controls Engineer is responsible for full controls life-cycle for industrial processes and machinery that meet the client's requirements. Responsibilities include the development of control systems architecture, component selection, control panel design, detailing schematic diagrams and documentation, PLC / HMI / SCADA programming, instrumentation specification, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning.

Programming in Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text and others languages to achieve the desired results is required. Some projects might include programming with VBA, .NET and SQL for the development of HMI/SCADA systems.

Design, detail and implement a variety of fiber, wired and wireless systems using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).

BS degree in Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience in process control systems design & implementation.
Must have solid experience with:

* HMI / SCADA programming (platforms such as Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley), Wonderware, PlantPAX, etc.).
* PLC programming (platforms such Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley), Modicon, Siemens, etc.).
* DCS programming is a plus

Knowledge of industrial networking used to connect control system components and instrumentation.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Current authorization to work for any company in the US with no restrictions.
Must have a stable work history
AutoCAD experiencepreferred.
