Rebeccas Café is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist in leading a culinary team for both a café and catering department in a private college. The sous chef will be responsible for assisting with creating high quality, fresh creative food for breakfast, lunch and dinner service as well as drop off and full service catering. Essential Functions Assists Executive Chef in preparation of delicious, fresh, scratch food for a diverse student and faculty. Prepares food for drop off catering and on campus events. Maintains sanitary kitchen in accordance with HAACP program. Assists in purchasing food in accordance with company guidelines, maintains proper inventory, and enforces loss control procedures. Is an example and leader for both culinary and kitchen staff. Maintains professional and positive attitude. Able to assist in hiring, training, and disciplining all kitchen staff in accordance with corporate policy. Knowledge on managing food and labor costs to budget. Completes monthly inventory, and internal reporting as required. Communicates and maintains excellent relationships with students, faculty, vendors, senior management and corporate staff. Assists colleagues as need arise. Attends occasional company wide meetings and management trainings. Willingness and ability to assist in any aspect of catering operation to ensure successful completion of orders.
