Company: Northern Michigan Regional Hospital
Facility: Northern Michigan Regional Health System at Petoskey
Department: Food & Nutrition

Works under the supervision of the Food Services Manager to perform the work process of food preparation for patient and retail service. Works directly with lead cook and performs duties as assigned depending on days needs.
Flexibility is necessary in this position as you will be cross-trained to perform additional duties in the food & nutrition area.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of food service experience or equivalent.
Other Job Requirements: Ability to get along with others, ability to communicate with food service personnel and supervisors, stand and walk most of the day, stoop and reach, lift and carry food and equipment up to 60 pounds, work in rapidly changing temperatures, read and understand written and verbal instructions and labels, math skills to be able to adjust recipes for portion control, coordinate cooking and serving times, evaluate palatability of prepared foods, detect difference in appearance of food indicating completion of cooking time and deterioration or contamination.
