Department: Nursing Operations Support

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: the incumbent in this position assists the Assistant Vice President Operations Support in assessing, planning, implementing, sustaining and evaluating programs to enhance the professional practice environment for nurses at Georgetown University Hospital. Will provide direct assistance in maintaining national recognition for excellence in nursing systems in the form of Magnet Status and other programs. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
EDUCATION AND OR TRAINING REQUIRED: Bachelor s degree in Nursing (BSN). Master s preferred.
LICENSURE AND OR CERTIFICATION: Eligible for RN licensure in the District of Columbia.
EXPERIENCE: Two to five years of nursing experience. Participation in shared governance or Magnet activities.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of systems and their development; analytical ability sufficient to develop and resolve systems problems of a moderately complex nature; excellent working knowledge of packaged software programs, i.e. data bases, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.; ability to work interdependently, as well as, independently on projects as assigned; Excellent oral and written communication skills, creativity, organizational ability, and the ability to work with people. Full - Time
