Senior Copywriter Role:
This role at SGS-Woonsocket is a client-facing role; requires 7-10 years experience and will oversee all of an SGS clients' Store Brand Categories
Provide leadership and mentoring to Copywrites/Technical Writers and train new staff as necessary.
Manage Copywriting team workloads across categories.
Align with Design Leads to plan and organize all packaging work.
Work closely with Project Managers to ensure all necessary required input for creating copy are received.
Establish clearly defined creative direction with client's business partners, troubleshooting conflicts in creative direction and improving consistency of copy, reducing revisions.
Oversee and maintain various store brand identities.
Create effective, best-quality content for production, including research, copywriting, proofreading, regulatory/legal responsibilities, review and approval of files.
Work closely with client's Creative Director and Brand Managers to develop exclusive brand stories for new branch launches and rebrands.
Write persuasive, accurate product copy that endorse brand attributes while capturing unique product features of individual items living within a larger brand.
Under direct of the client's Creative Director, brainstorm names and tag lines for new brand launches and run trademark searches.
Role within SGS Workflow:
Attend packaging kickoff meetings and receive proper inputs required to begin work on planogram items.
Work with Proofing and Regulatory teams during creation of copy sheets/annotated PDFs for accuracy.
Route completed copy sheets to client Brand Manager and meet with them to ensure copy alignment prior to New Item Meeting(NIM).
Route completed copy sheets/ annotated PDFs to assigned Production Designer, and work together to alter copy if artwork dictates revision.
Review preliminary artwork before showing to business partners at NIM.
Attend NIM with PM and Lead Designer to present items to business partners.
Update copy sheets/annotated PDFs to reflect necessary changes driven by vendor or business partners and alert Production Designer of changes made.
Review PDF's for approval.
