Prominent key player within the real estate/investment sector is looking to partner with a Corporate Controller that brings a great set of skills that will enable this Co. to rise to the next level of success form an accounting standpoint. This role will report to the CEO, this VP/Controller is responsible for development of financial management strategy; financial, operational and investor reporting; and supervision of all accounting and financial functions. In addition to strategic components, this hands on position is responsible for timely monthly close, financial analysis and regulatory compliance. ?Account for and report on direct real estate investments, complex partnerships and associated consolidations ?Implement a process to record transactions by entity accurately, close books and report results timely, compare costs incurred to budget and perform analysis of financial results ?Maintain record of reconciled accounts supporting financial reports ?Prepare and record closing entries for asset acquisitions, dispositions and financings ?Prepare annual budgets and maintain cash projections at property, partnership and corporate levels ?Responsible for debt compliance including the analysis of loan documents to ensure that the reporting and compliance requirements are met ?Coordinate with external tax professionals to facilitate tax compliance and timely filing of annual tax returns ?Oversee annual financial and compliance audits ?Supervise invoice processing, calculation of fees, allocation of costs on behalf of multiple entities and equity investor cash calls/distributions ?Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations ?Supervise staff accountant ?Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective ?Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time Prerequisites: Education: ?Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting, or equivalent experience. C.P.A. is preferred but not required. Experience: ?Real estate portfolio accounting experience required ?Minimum of 5 years accounting experience ?Minimum of 3 years controller or higher experience, preferably in the real estate/investment industry Skills: ?Credibility, ethical, full disclosure and clean financial history ?Confidential, ability to handle payroll including the mental conflicts that are associated with this responsibility ?Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product ?Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner ?Able to work independently, collaboratively, and handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order over same ?Motivated self-starter who can produce results For immediate & confidential consideration, please forward your resume through a MICROSOFT WORD document & contact Gladys at the Act-1 Los Angeles office after forwarding the resume.
