Job Description
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller directs and oversees the accounting organization as Varex transitions to a stand-alone public company.

The Corporate Controller will manage and drive the worldwide financial reporting including monthly and quarterly financial close process, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, cost accounting and SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q etc.).
Provide technical expertise in all aspects of US GAAP, including revenue recognition, business combinations, stock compensation.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and regulations relating to US GAAP requirements.
This position will be the primary interface with the external auditors.
Work closely with the IT organization and the Finance Systems Manager to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the Varex ERP and accounting systems.
Develop and implement programs that improve the productivity of the accounting organization through use of automation and process improvement.
Establish programs for on-going training of the accounting team and organizational development.
Manage and drive the mergers and acquisitions accounting strategies as related to revenue, cost, and acquisition accounting along with integration effort of acquired companies.
Build strong partnerships with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Sales Operations, Production, Legal etc.
Work closely with the international controller to set the strategic direction of the global controllership function as we manage and grow internationally.

Job Requirements
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required. Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is required and experience with SEC reporting tools such as Webfilings is a plus.

Typical Education and Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent. CPA required. Minimum 10 years of related experience, including at least 6 years managing teams. Big 4 experience preferred.
