Partners HealthCare System, Inc. (PHS) is an integrated health care system, founded by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) that offers patients a continuum of coordinated and high-quality care. In July 2012, Partners HealthCare announced it would partner with Epic, the industry-leading provider of health information technology to develop and implement an integrated, electronic health information system at all institutions across the Partners network by 2017. This initiative, Partners eCare (PeC), is the largest program of its kind in the history of Partners HealthCare. In an effort to align clinical and administrative systems throughout Partners, our goal is One patient, one record, one team.
Under the direction of the MGH eCare Executive Director, the Team Lead manages the day to day activities of their assigned team. The team lead is responsible for tracking, coordinating, reporting and managing support activities. Team leads manage the work of Clinical Business Analysts (CBAs) and clinical informaticists to support diverse interdisciplinary system users and teams. This work requires an individual who can work independently, collaborate with multiple disciplines, organize and prioritize work, and work to find solutions to complex problems. The project will span all work areas of the hospital: inpatient, outpatient, clinical and some administrative functions.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Manage an interdisciplinary team in providing high-quality support end users both at the elbow, over the phone and online.
Understand clinical workflows and concerns in a variety of clinical areas. Shadow clinicians to understand how teams work and patient care is provided. This clinical understanding is key to appropriately understanding issues that arise.
Design processes to best triage and manage incoming issues and disperse them to team members.
Work with training, technical, operational, and leadership teams to understand, explain, and resolve issues big and small.
With MGH and PHS teams, coordinate development and release activities.
Develop strong relationships with end users and their departmental leaders to ensure support efforts are well coordinated, of high value, and well communicated.
Understand PHS and MGH team structures to best manage issues that require multi team input and problem solving.
Successfully juggle multiple issues and tasks at once, organize, prioritize and clearly communicate issue statuses.
Schedule and chair regular team meetings to discuss and coordinate activities.
Manage the onboarding of new team members ensuring they swiftly gain both hospital and Epic system knowledge.
Manage staff performance per organizational guidelines.
Mentor, motivate, and recognize the work of team members.
Exhibit sound and accurate decision making and serve as an expert resource for problem solving.
Assist leadership in resource planning efforts for both project and support activities.
Forecast staffing needs ensuring resources are serving the most and highest good.
Remain flexible and adept in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing activities and priorities.
Track and communicate status on various team efforts including metrics and risk/issues.
Assist in identifying the root cause for problems and appropriately engaging other teams, when appropriate, to bring swift resolution.
Meticulously track team activities and be able to focus on both short and long term goals.
Develop a deep understanding of Partners Epic system build.
Act independently communicating your teams work as appropriate.
Provide excellent customer service to end users via a calm and respectful interaction, swiftness of follow up, and accuracy of information relayed.
Adhere to project management tools and methodologies.
Intermittently act as on-call support for end users with urgent issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or IT, Masters Degree Preferred.
3-5 years project and/or team management experience is preferred
3-5 years healthcare experience preferred
Epic applications experience a plus
A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements as appropriate

Primarily office setting. Incumbent will be expected to travel to the appropriate PHS sites to meet with business owners and clinicians.
24x7 On Call responsibilities on a rotating basis required.
5-10 direct interdisciplinary direct reports
Assistance in managing capital and operational budgets as determined by leadership.
