This is an opportunity for an engineer to join the Engineering Cost Reduction Group. The engineer will develop ideas and implement projects in all areas of the truck.

Develop innovative ideas for cost and weight reduction including:
Alternative materials
Alternative processes
Design Alternatives
Assembly time reduction
New product
Packaging improvements
Lower transportation costs
Estimate part costs to ensure that contract pricing is correct. Compare like parts from both Peterbilt and Kenworth.
Meet with suppliers to develop and review their cost reduction ideas.
Review Kenworth installations for harmonization opportunities.

If you are an energetic, driven professional who is able to handle multiple tasks, take initiative, is a team player, problem solver, has professional and effective communication skills (written and verbal), along with excellent interpersonal skills, this might be the position for you.

B.S.M.E. or related degree is required. Working knowledge of Pro-E, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PLR FRACAS, SharePoint, PCMS, OPS, and COPICS is preferred. Interdivisional program coordination experience including interfacing with Kenworth, PTC, Purchasing and DAF preferred. Solid understanding in use of Design for Six Sigma and Six Sigma techniques is preferred.
