The primary focus and responsibility of this position is thecontinuing improvement of the quality of the Division s product releases, costimprovement efforts including Material Cost Excellence (MCE), projectimplementations, use of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and other tools, and tomonitor progress towards the achievement of the Division s Six Sigma goals.
Assist the cost reduction and warranty reduction teams onachieving their goals by providing strategic direction.
Provide hands-on mentoring and guidance to the Division s engineering, project and project interfacing staff in the use of the phase-gate process.
Provide hands-on mentoring and guidance to the Division s engineering and project staff in the use of the appropriate Material Cost Excellence tools in design and development projects.
Provide hands-on mentoring and guidance to the Division s engineering and project staff in the use of the appropriate Six Sigma tools in design and product development projects.
Provide hands-on guidance in the use of the appropriate forms for Six Sigma and Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC)-based projects.
Promote and mentor the use of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology.
Assist Division Engineering and Accounting, as well as Corporate Purchasing and other Divisions, as appropriate, to evaluate proposed savings projects to ensure a high level of quality and return.
Assist in the development and implementation of improvements to the Division s product development and project release processes and systems.
Travel up to 15%.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Sciences required; advanced degree preferred.
Six Sigma Black Belt or Quality Engineer (CQE) certification highly desired.
Demonstrable ability to teach, mentor and instruct a diversified staff in the appropriate use of quality tools to drive quality improvements in products and projects.
10 years of diversified experience in Manufacturing, Assembly and Engineering desired.
Able to effectively manage multiple tasks, take initiative, be a strong team player and problem-solver.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated success in working on intra-division program teams.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Project.
Project management experience, a plus.
