Alamo Iron Works, a Sonepar company is a distribution company offering a broad line of Industrial Mill Supplies and wid variety of Steel, Fabrication and Rebar products. We are currently seeking a Counter Manager in San Antonio, TX.



RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and Marketing

*

Maintains a professional appearance.
*

Greets customers in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
*

Answers phone in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
*

Determines make and type of product needed.
*

Discusses use and features of various parts.
*

Utilizes catalog or Internet for replacement part stock number and price.
*

Fills customer orders from stock.
*

Operates computer to order, enter and retrieve data.
*

Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.
*

Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
*

Examines returned part to determine if defective, and exchanges part or refunds money.
*

Receives and fills telephone orders.
*

Assists customer with gathering their material.
*

Assists customer with loading the material in their vehicle.
*

Enters and reviews lost sales report to recommend the correct order points.
*

Maintain pricing levels to achieve gross margin and sales goals.

*

Oversees making proactive telephone calls to potential new customers and existing customers.
*

Supports and promotes HNA sales and marketing promotions
*

Monitors and ensures proper follow up on new accounts.
*

Manage and approve pricing.
*

Review counter performance and profitability with associates.
*

Interacts in a professional manner with other departments within the company.
*

Looks for new sales opportunities to help grow market share.
*

Identifies ways to improve the customer service experience



Shipping, Receiving, Inventory and Housekeeping

*

Verifying the accuracy of shipments to the counter.
*

Assists delivery driver with unloading material.
*

Maintains counter sales displays and facilities appearance which includes empting trash, dusting shelves, cleaning restroom, and sweeping the floors.
*

Marks and stores parts in the counter according to prearranged system.
*

Identifies adequate inventory levels.
*

Maintains an accurate inventory.

*

Preparing for and taking physical inventory.

*

Manage inventory information flow to procurement.

Budget and Administrative

*

Time card entry

* Pay monthly invoices

* Reconciling company credit card within the assigned timeline

* Reviews assigned reports and returns to appropriate person

* Responsible for making up cash deposits and depositing time within the assigned timeline

* Files necessary documents and reports

* Maintains P & L within the budget goal

* Provides input into the counter budget

*

Maintain overtime dollars within the budget perimeters



REQUIREMENTS:

*

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
*

5 years or more related sales experience including 1 year of management experience
*

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

*

Electrical product and application knowledge
*

Working knowledge of Prophet 21
*

Working knowledge of Control
*

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
*

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
*

Working knowledge of the Internet
*

Previous forklift experience
*

Basic safety knowledge (i.e., proper lifting techniques, etc.)
