Department: Medical Staffing Services

Facilitates the efficient operations of the medical staff office by providing comprehensive and complex .support functions. The position requires strong organizational skills, proactive management of issues, and independent work management skills in a highly confidential and sensitive environment. Manages appointment and reappointment processes in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws and Credentialing Plans, Policies and Department protocol and regulatory agencies (ie: state licensure, JCAHO, NCQA). Manages the collection of information (i.e. State License, DEA, Malpractice insurance, Health Information, and etc.) pertaining to the medical staff and allied health staff at each facility and follows up for missing information in accordance with credentialing plans, policies and regulatory standards to assure that credentialing files and the provider databases are continuously up to date. Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date integrated physician and allied health database for Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell Health Resource, Cooperative Care Network, Central Kentucky Physicians, Inc., and the Centralized Application Verification Organization. Responsible for processing and verifying new physician and allied health (ARNP, PA, CRNA, SST, etc.) applications. Manage and distribute reappointment applications. Verify/confirm ALL information contained in original and reappointment applications from the primary source within prescribed timeframes. Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of microsoft programs. Familiarity with database mangement is preferred. Associates Degree preferred plus three years secretarial experience or High School degree and minimum of 5 years experience including at least 3 years in an Executive Level Secretarial position. NAMSS certification, or committment to becoming certified, is required. Full-time 1st
