We have an immediate need for a highly motivated, results oriented Credit and Collections Director.
With a desire to excel, the qualified professional will be responsible for the overall management of the Credit and Collections Department which includes, developing, improving operational goals and managing the credit approval and collections activities. Assess credit worthiness and establish credit limits for CDI customers through use of credit tools, metrics and financial analysis. Perform ongoing monitoring and analysis of existing customers for changes to exposure and risk tolerance.
Key Responsibilities:Manage the credit approval process and collection activities. This includes maintaining policies and procedures for credit approval/collections guidelines. Analyze the key drivers and metrics vs. historical performance and projected goals to ensure efficiency of collections. Establish review processes to ensure continued relevance of key drivers/metrics and modification as necessary to meet the changing needs of the business. Take actions necessary to achieve DSO targets and minimize the impact of the bad debt reserve on the financial statements. Assess customer credit worthiness and establish customer credit limits using resources such as Financial Statement information, CreditRiskMonitor tool, Dun & Bradstreet reports, industry information and other resources. Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting/analysis of collection results against historical and projected goals to the Vice President, Treasurer. Maintain appropriate documentation and transparency to support basis and rationale for customer credit decisions and limits. Maintain single repository of credit limits in financial systems. Monitor changes in economic, industry and customer conditions and maintain communication with various Business Units to evaluate potential changes to customers' credit worthiness (risk tolerance) and credit limits.
Key Requirements:BS degree in Accounting/Finance or a business related field. Prior credit and collection management experience with a minimum 15 plus years of experience in a commercial/services credit evaluation environment. Working knowledge of commercial credit systems as well as corporate financial systems (General Ledger and reporting packages). Proficient in Microsoft Office and other productivity software tools. Excellent research and analytical capabilities. Strong communicator (written & oral presentations, negotiations, training, and project management) at all levels within the organization. Experience with service industry and the dynamics associated with a time driven revenue business model.
This position is expected to provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting/analysis of collection results against historical and projected goals to the Vice President, Treasurer. This position is expected to develop, organize and manage the Credit & Collections team to provide effective and efficient support to the business, reporting units and meet the assigned goals.
