A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR CREDIT POLICY ANALYST:
As a Credit Policy Analyst you will be a part of our rapidly growing Credit Policy Department, reporting directly to the Manager of Credit Policy. This person will analyze competitor and agency guidelines changes and the impact on risk analysis and policy changes. This role requires critical thinking, evaluating large amounts of information to provide recommendations for acceptability related to risk, and negotiation.
In addition, you can expect to:
*Monitor agency announcements and guideline changes,
*Communicate timely and effectively to Manager of Credit Policy and other departments as applicable to ensure alignment with current investor requirements, laws and best mortgage practices
*Provide guidance and assistance to external department and interpretation of credit policy, implementation of underwriting guidelines, and ensuring compliance thereof
*Responsible for the analysis.
*Responsible for determining the acceptability or programmatic and/or certain loan level exceptions to MGIC's guidelines and/or credit policies requested by lender, or account manager after thoroughly researching lender performance history, past exception levels, and overall risk in current environment.
*Acts as an expert resource to other departments who may be evaluating individual loan exceptions, re-underwriting files or making decisions on acceptable risk.

WHAT WE\'RE LOOKING FOR:
*Completion of Bachelors Degree.
*3+ years or more in information and/or data analysis related to risk underwriting.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*Thorough knowledge of mortgage industry and an understanding of underwriting
*Excellent customer services skills and communication skills (verbal and written)
*Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines with quality in a fast-paced environment
