Superior Group is looking for Credit Specialist for our Client located in Overland Park, KS.
The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the credit worthiness of new and existing customers.
Additionally, they are charged with handling the A/R aging which is inclusive of daily activities involved in mitigating financial risk to the company.
Research of deductions and resolving of them to a positive conclusion is essential.
Finally, being able to communicate effectively both internal and external is required.
Daily Credit Functions
Reviews and recommends limits on the credit worthiness of New and Existing Customers
Works with Sales to obtain a signed credit application
Coordinates with Sales Rep and Manager on credit issues
Obtains and analyzes credit reports
Performs financial analysis on current financial statements
Contacts and verifies credit references
Sets up periodic account reviews according to department guidelines
Review and Release orders that are on hold according to department guidelines
Daily review of Accounts Receivable aging in assigned territory
Contacts past due accounts daily according to credit risk
Reconciles customer account balances as appropriate
Follows up promptly with Customer/Internal requests and payment promises
Researches and resolves billing discrepancies, disputes, chargebacks, claims and refunds; communicates status to the appropriate parties
Process credits and debits for accounts in assigned territory
Negotiates settlement of accounts
Review and mail invoices/credit memorandums to customers
Function as back-up for other Credit team members
Keeps Credit Manager abreast of any “problem” accounts
Other duties as assigned by Credit Manager
Ability to clearly communicate with customers via phone, email, fax or mail
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
Required Skills / Qualifications:
High school diploma
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Credit Specialist
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Solid background in commercial credit and collections
Minimum of 1 year experience in business A/R or Credit
