JOB DUTIES:

Perform routine cleaning, housekeeping and/or general maintenance duties, for the entire Department of Medicine - Santa Monica Outpatient Clinics. Work individually maintaining assigned work areas.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of custodial safety practices and procedures. Knowledge of custodial materials, methods and practices. Knowledge of the operation and care of vacuums, scrubbers, buffers and other custodial equipment. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. Ability to mix proper amounts of water/chemical solutions. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to operate custodial equipment. Ability to lead others in performing custodial work. Ability to keep records and complete forms. Ability to work without close supervision. Knowledge of supervision. Knowledge of basic recordkeeping and report writing. Ability to assign, oversee and evaluate the work of custodial personnel including reinforcing standards of job performance. Ability to train personnel in custodial work. Knowledge of department policies and procedures regarding personnel, supply and equipment, and custodial work. Knowledge of recordkeeping, report writing, supply and inventory practices. Ability to coordinate and plan for effective use of equipment, supplies and personnel. Ability to resolve problems and complaints. Knowledge of principles and practices of planning, organizing and general administration. Ability to plan and direct custodial operations including determining work priorities.
