The Customs and Logistics Agent provides support, guidance and enforces compliance on all imports and exports within their specific Territory.The incumbent will conduct data analysis, contribute to development of standard global policies, processes, metrics and reporting and provide technical and analytical support to the Customs and Logistics Supervisor, Regional Distribution Manager and Territory Materials Managers.The incumbent will also be expected to manage the Imports and Exports for a number of Countries. Key measurements of success include: Compliant Exports and Imports, freight cost reduction, shipment tracking and on-time delivery. Position Description:Ensures that all Exports out of and Imports into their specific Territory are done within the country laws. Provides analytics and reporting to improve the Logistical efficiency within their specific TerritoryWork with Boart Longyear s contracted 4PL, Clearing agents and freight companies to:Reduce logistics and Clearing costsReduce lead timesBuild an accurate HS Code LibraryResolve any issuesEnsure all Import/Export files for their specific Territory are:CompleteAudited for accurate calculation of Duties and VATAchieved Ensure that finance is informed of any incomplete Exports so that VAT can be paid to the appropriate Authorities and recovered once the files are completeOversee Temporary Imports/Exports within their specific Territory Ensure that any Bonded Warehouses in their specific Territory are managed in a Compliant MannerPosition Requirements:3 - 5 yrs. demonstrated experience in supply chain, specifically handling international Logistics Experience and possess knowledge of Import/Export principles, processes and practices. Demonstrated proficiency in using first tier ERP software package. Oracle/SAP applications experience preferred.Strong analytical skills and a process orientation.Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.Comfortable with MS Office and IT systems.Fluent English language skills (French would be a Plus)
