Job Description
Air Liquide Specialty Gas ("ALASG") is actively seeking a Shipping Clerk. The individual will perform (but not be limited to) the following responsibilities: • Uncompromising commitment to safety, regulatory and compliance • Controls and participates in daily operations of cylinder distribution• Accurately and promptly complete paperwork/documentation associated with hazardous material shipments for both domestic and international customers• Ensure compliances with Air Liquide policies and procedures, DOT regulations and international shipping laws• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day shipping department operations • Develop and implement distribution schedules and distribution priorities in relation to customer requirements• Interface with other functional departments, New Jersey team and regional depots to facilitate product movement• Ensure compliance with all military shipping requirements (i.e. MSL Military Shipping Label, Action Pak, WAWF documentation and RFID tags) • Ensure on-time shipment of all available products• Work to eliminate shipping related CIRs and Safety/Regulatory infractions. • Implements and monitors (without exception) adherence to the Air Liquide policies and procedures in Fill Plant and Cylinder Distribution manuals and DOT, OSHA, EPA and other government regulations • Demonstrate high level of competence with AS400, Scout, Maximo, and SmartSolve• Must comply, without exception, with the Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures Manual• Successful implementation of tools and processes that meet company ZERO ACCIDENT and local strategic objectives• Maintain compliance with all DOT record keeping and procedures Improvement in Customer Satisfaction as it relates to meeting and exceeding customer delivery and quality expectations, such as customer complaint tracking and managing corrective actions• Improvement in fill plant processes, delivery systems and schedules which demonstrate measurable improvement in efficiency and quality• Meet or exceed operating and capital budget objectives• Measurable improvement in survey relating to employee at large involvement • Provides opportunities for on-going training• Increases knowledge of the organizational structure, order fulfillment process, and product lines General Requirements:• Preferably 3+ years experience in international shipping role. (cylinder experience preferred)• Training certification in (or ability to obtain) CFR 49, IATA, and IMO • Excellent operational and organizational skills• Knowledge of "Best Practices" as related to cylinder distribution• Possession of a CDL is a plus• Requires walking or standing to a significant degree • Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally/and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly• Some involvement with movement and preparation of cylinders.
