Design Assistant As a Design Assistant you will play a key role on the Chicago Sheet Plant Design Team that supports PCA's customers. In this role you will collaborate with customers and other team members to evaluate customers' needs and expectations, design packaging, build prototypes and make samples to submit to customers to ensure they receive cost effective and aesthetically appealing design solutions per their expectations. Prepare CAD specifications for production during the manufacturing process and partner with other team members to fulfill customer requests and offer guidance in respect to optimizing department and manufacturing efficiency.JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following - Artios CAD system and Using design standards - Tops Pro or Cape - Complete Carton Design projects - Make customer visits as needed with our sales team to identify customer requirements. - In-depth interaction with customer representatives during the Package Design Process - Sample cutting & Small runs - Checking of Tooling - Working with customer services EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in corrugated packaging - Carton Design capability. - Three Dimensional package rendering skills - Strong computer skills; knowledge of all Windows applications - Excellent phone skills. - Experience using Illustrator will be helpful - Candidate must work well in a team environment and have a strong work ethic.
