BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Erie Insurance is currently seeking Professional and Senior level IT Analysts with breadth of skills and experience interested in careers in data analysis and data modeling.



We are seeking individuals with a Bachelor s degree in IT, MIS, Business or related field plus three or more years experience in Information Technology who are interested in learning and developing their career with a Fortune 500 Company in Erie, PA. Talented individuals without a Bachelor s degree, but who have additional, equivalent work experience may also be considered.

Our IT Analysts:

* Reduce cost and time to market while maintaining quality principles and delivery

* Validate that all entry and exit criteria have been met within a life cycle

* Identify, prioritize, manage trade-offs, and mitigate project and software risks and issues

* Verify, prioritize, and ensure correction of defects

* Ensure artifacts maintain clear traceability to original business intent

In these roles, you will also:

* Develop data requirements with our business partners

* Ensure that data requirements are compliant/adherent to the enterprise standard model

* Applying establish patterns and collaborate with Engineering/Architecture to improve patterns

* Create and maintain logical and physical data models for solutions

* Work with peers to map data models to the common enterprise model

* Import, cleanse, transform, model, analyze, measure and report data

* Establish, communicate, and maintain data and data collection standards and principles

* Design IT and business processes to incorporate ETL standards

* Provide feedback on ETL process effectiveness

* Learn, develop, and maintain application data flow documentation

* Ensure adherence to metadata standards and effective use of data dictionary by application teams

* Identify and raise data related issues, interdependencies, and risks as appropriate

* Stay current with trends in data management

* Guide team resources in following established data management standards

Skills and Abilities:

* Recruiting to list standard IT Analyst skills and abilities and add

* Insurance Industry Experience (P&C)

* Data modeling and data mapping skills (Erwin)

* Metadata application data dictionary development skills

* Ability to work with relational and document databases (Oracle and MarkLogic)

* Understand the data, act as a data subject matter expert

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience Equivalencies:

* Bachelor s degree in IT, MIS, Business or related field, plus 2 years related experience

* Associate s degree in a technical field, plus 4 years related experience

* High school diploma plus 6 years related experience

* PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS (% of Time):

* Lifting: 0-20 lbs. Occasional (less than 20%) 20-50 lbs. Occasional (less than 20%) Over 50 lbs. Rarely

* Driving: Occasional (less than 20%)

* Pushing/Pulling: Rarely

* Manual Keying/Data Entry: Frequent (50-80%)
