Job Summary Statement:
Under the supervision of the Project Director and Project Manager, serve as data collector and researcher using a variety of child assessment/observation measures. The data collector independently or with a partner travels to homes, schools, and child care settings to observe and assess programs, children and/or teacher-child interactions; maintains complete and accurate records; coordinates data collection schedules with other data collectors, school personnel, and families; and assists with entering data, assembling data packets and mailings, and other office duties, as assigned. Position requires use of critical thinking and analytical skills to successfully execute live classroom observations using constructs from multiple research measures simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related Social Science; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with research participants, directors of child care programs, and other researchers; ability to gather and convey information accurately and respectfully.
Demonstrated experience and skill in using complex interview, observation, and assessment instruments, including CLASS (multiple versions), Environment Rating Scales (multiple versions), Adult Involvement Scale, PPVT, TVIP, Woodcock-Johnson, and Woodcock Munoz.
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills in order to apply constructs from multiple research instruments simultaneously during live classroom observations.
Observe all rules and regulations pertaining to various study requirements.
Ability to maintain accurate records for collecting, analyzing and sending data.
Ability to work independently and meet required deadlines.
Ability to provide own transportation as needed to various work site locations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues.
Good organizational skills, and attention to detail
Demonstrated proficiency in the English and Spanish language for accurate observation and assessment of child care settings
Experience with young children
Continued employment contingent upon satisfactory background check.
