Client is seeking a Data Mart Modeler/Developer who has significant experience working with Business Intelligence reporting products. Under general direction, plans, designs, develops and implements new data models, data marts, complex SQL programs and ETL processes. May provide work leadership and direction to lower level analysts with emphasis on detailed analysis and programming issues. Competent to work at the highest technical level in most phases of technical analysis and programming. Emphasis is on programming work with project management as a secondary responsibility. Typically reports to a manager or director.
_EDUCATION:_Bachelor's degree (or equivalent education, training or experience) in computer science.
_SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:_ Skills and experience typically acquired through seven to ten years of progressively more responsible programming experience. Strong working knowledge of programming analysis and design. Experience working with structured query language, preferably Oracle SQL. Experience working with Agile/RAD methodologies. Experience designing and implementing Star Schemas with comprehensive knowledge of data modeling concepts, including transaction dimensions, conformed dimensions and facts, slowly changing dimensions and transactional, snapshot and accumulating snapshot fact tables. Able to listen to needs of users and translate this information into user-friendly solutions to supply needed data. Able to work with both technical and non-technical personnel. Knowledge of business functions. Significant experience working as part of a reporting team using a modernreporting platform such as Business Objects, Qlikview, Cognos, and OBIEE in both an analytical and development capacity. Significant experience in the design and development of the business intelligence semantic layer in support of customer initiatives. Experience in creating and maintaining documentation owned jointly across departments.
