SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform database administration and information management activities. Develop, test, implement and support databases and database products. Work with internal and external customers to coordinate and meet business, technical, and functional requirements in a highly available, mission critical database environment. Provide infrastructure, tools, and procedures for effective information management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Provide support to development staff in database code optimization and tuning of SQL, PL/SQL and other programming functions.
* Design, implement, administer and support multiple databases and database products.
* Execute database object, application process code and data changes in the production, fail-over, testing, development, and all other database environments, following all corporate change management and security.
* Identify, implement, and maintain processes, procedures and tools for database administration and information management.
* Coordinate business, technical, and functional requirements of information management systems.
* Establish and maintain multiple versions of database systems to support varied IT functions such as testing, reporting, training and others.
* Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SSAE 16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission, Energy and Operating Reserve Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline required
Experience:
* Two years development, design, and support of production grade database systems required
* One year hands-on Oracle technologies and successful deployments required
Knowledge:
* Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues
* Microsoft Office Suite
* Procedures involved in the information SDLC
* Data modeling methodologies and tools
* Proficiency on multiple operating systems, Oracle products and protocols
Skills:
* Commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork
* Excellent communication and listening skills
* Utilizing company policies appropriately
* Administration skills on a variety of computer platforms (UNIX, Windows, LINUX)
* SQL, SQL-Plus, PL/SQL, and scripting languages
* Foster teamwork and collaboration
Abilities:
* Apply and adapt practices and techniques to a variety of projects
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and the general public
