Job Description

Progressive Impressions International seeks a Database Administrator to work in Bloomington, IL. Duties include: Designs SQL Server databases; analyzes and implements appropriate changes to database server environments within the required timeframes; provides remediation assistance to teams for databases-related issues; utilizes SQL Server applications and related products to analyze and tune Microsoft SQL Server databases; manages all data coming into and out of the facility, including the loading, processing and housing of the facilities SQL databases; designs databases solutions by performing complex requirements gathering and data-modeling; performs root-cause analysis and problem resolutions for SQL Server databases issues, including performance, blocking, deadlocks, connectivity and security issues; utilizes SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, Microsoft Windows PerfMon, Microsoft SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools to administer production databases; serves as the champion for standards setting, documentation, process improvement and quality assurance within the database area; manages databases with datasets over 1TB in size; maintains multiple database backup solutions for all data on a variety of servers; evaluates new technologies current systems to ensure the needs of the company are being met; designs and develops processes to facilitate industry best practices for data management and data access techniques; maintains documentation describing the database systems infrastructure and major processes; designs and Implement operational automation processes using SQL Server, .NET, VB Script, Java Script. Assist web developers and data developers, troubleshooting VB.NET and ASP.NET applications.

Requires a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Requires three months experience in the job offered or as a Programmer Analyst or Web Developer.

The three months of experience must include: 1) MS SQL Server, 2) Managing SQL Server databases, 3) VB.NET, ASP.NET, VB Script, Java Script, and 4) Working with multiple vendor database backup solutions.
