POSITION PURPOSEUnder general supervision, directs and performs activities related to relational database design, development, administration, and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security, maintenance and utilization. Acts as a technical resource in the resolution of complex database issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in Computer Science or related area and five (5) or more years of related experience in the areas of technical SQL Server database administration with comprehensive knowledge of windows operating systems. Hands-on database administration experience in support of production environments and strong database language programming skills. Superior knowledge of host operating systems, advanced relational database programming languages, system utilities, software products, and related hardware. Ability to write complex stored procedures, triggers, batch and shell scripts. Strong background using relational database management and development tools and technologies. Proficiency in database backup and recovery methodologies. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills for solving complex database problems, developing standards and procedures, and long-range planning. Advanced written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with end users, TIS staff, and vendors. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with people of differing professional backgrounds. Demonstrated abilities to technically lead projects, manage several projects at one time, prioritize multiple tasks, and function well in an environment of competing priorities and in crisis situations. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. PREFERRED SKILLSExperience working with VLDB, multi node cluster environment and advanced DR technologies are required. Ability to write stored procedures, windows power shell scripts, familiarity with dynamic management views, configuration of data collector utilities and central management server. Full Time Day
