AON IS LOOKING FOR A DATABASE ANALYST
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Active Health Exchange business group within Aon Hewitt. This is a virtual role and can be worked from anywhere in the U.S.
YOUR IMPACT AS A DATABASE ANALYST
Our Database Analysts are design and documentation oriented. In the role, you will be making changes to the data models - which affect the integrity of the data and SQL statements. You will be responsible for new database objects; index tuning; engineering new database objects; query construction and execution plans; and multiple table joins. Our Database Analysts perform all necessary testing to ensure completeness and accuracy of data files. You will also be working with ETL and writing procedural code.
You will use strong communication skills in order to work collaboratively, but also have a strong skill-set to be able to work independently. You will have a positive outlook on governance and be able to objectively participate in design review discussions.
YOU BRING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
* 3+ years of SQL Server.
* Ability to deconstruct problems.
* Knows how to properly use indexes.
* Understands how to write nested procedures that may also call user defined functions.
* Effectively manipulate and maintain code within procedural code.
* Uses SQL Server Profiler to troubleshoot issues around slowness and bugs.
* Quickly understands code that is/was written by someone else.
* Finds solutions to basic issues on the web or in SQL BOL, or other resources.
* Strong learning agility.
* Familiarity with RedGate, Azure SQL Server are a plus (as is familiarity with cloud storage).
* Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent years of industry experience.
