REQUIRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 JOB DESCRIPTION: It is an exciting time to be a part of the NYU Child Study Center (CSC) at NYU Langone Medical Center, as we turn to a new chapter in the important history of child mental health in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with a renewed dedication to innovation, science and impact. To assist in our efforts, we are seeking a dynamic Department Administrator to drive the execution of our strategic plan, while upholding our mission to transform the lives of children and families through collaborative science, education and practice. In this highly visible role, you will provide leadership support and overall administrative direction for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and implement strategic goals related to management of the department, program development and related issues in conjunction with the Chair, department leadership and leadership of the Medical Center. Additionally, you will oversee the financesbudgetsoperations; data systems that track information related to the achievement of strategic goals; and the administrative leadership team. Essential to your success will be your ability to infuse excellent business practice in all elements of department operations, including achieving the overarching strategic objective of significantly increasing the Departments research portfolio, particularly extramurally funded research. We will also look to you to direct non-physician staff, including managers of clerical, technical and administrative support staff; oversee the recruitment, orientation and professional development of new staff and faculty; and provide administrative oversight of the education and training programs and accreditation requirements as appropriate. In addition, you will direct and manage facilities and oversee space planning for the department. JOB REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will possess a Masters degree in health administration, public health, business administration or related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of administrative leadership experience in an academic medical center. A thorough understanding of the management of an academic clinical department or related enterprise, an ambitious, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent demonstrated communication skills are essential. A background or demonstrated commitment in services andor research with children or behavioral health a plus. As the Department has just completed a strategic planning process, the ability to lead the implementation of the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of a strategic plan is a major asset.
