Job Description

Design Consultant – Orlando / Tampa, FL
Closing Date: February 17, 2012

In this position you will manage all sales activities in your geographic territory to obtain revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Additionally, you will be responsible for the continuous growth, development, and relationship building of the customer base and work closely with the customer support managers to insure all phases of the selling process are coordinated and completed in an efficient and effective manner.

Key elements of this position include:
• Traveling throughout the territory to visit with and assess customer needs and requirements.
• Advise customers on equipment for given need based on technical knowledge of BERCHTOLD medical products and equipment.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of the company’s production and delivery schedules.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for the current customers into the company data base.
• Provide customers with consultation on operating room layouts using the computer aided design software.
• Prepare and submit sales reports showing sales volume, projected sales, territory funnel maintenance, and area of opportunity.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report activities and products of the competition.

Candidates interested in applying for this position should possess the following:
• A Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited college or university and equivalent experience is preferred.
• One to three years’ experience in a medical equipment sales position is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 70% on a weekly basis is required.
• Familiarity with the hospital and operating room environment is a definite plus.
• Must display interpersonal skills that focus on group problem solving, using sound reason and judgment when dealing with emotional topics.
• Must be a self-starter with outstanding planning and organizational skills.
• Financial management experience is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; previous experience and familiarity with CRM system.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and be able to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time.
• Must be available to work extended hours to meet time availability demands of hospital clients including 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Residency within the territory required.
