The candidate is capable of leading a Study and Events Design Team that isolates and frames issues vital to the U.S. Army s future force development and development of solution strategies for complex operational problems. The Design Team develops a Future Study Plan and a fully integrated series of learning events composed of wargames and seminars that address potential crises across the range of military operations. The Design Support Coordinator leads the team in developing, coordinating, and assisting in execution of detailed plans of execution for each learning event. The Design Support Coordinator leads the team s participation in the development of campaign plans and scenarios for study events.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal Design Support Coordinator has deep experience involving government and Department of Defense senior leader engagement, national security, military strategy, interagency operations, joint operations, industry operations, academic fields of study, and exceptional critical thinking skills regarding strategic and tactical topic areas. The Design Support Coordinator applies Design (or the Army Design Methodology) as the basis for determining future study topics, problems to explore, and investigative approaches to identified problems. The Design Support Coordinator applies critical and creative thinking to frame study approaches, collaborates and dialogues with other relevant organizations, uses visual modeling to describe approaches, and applies narrative construction to describe the study plan.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Former Brigade Commander experience
Six (6) or more years of experience leading Joint Planning teams at the Unified Command level
Service experience in Special Operations forces
Service experience with the Army Capabilities Integration Center Future Warfare Division and/or Joint and Army Concepts Division
Senior Service College graduate and/or multiple relevant advanced degrees
Former Battalion Commander experience
10 or more years practical experience using Design and the Army Design Methodology to apply critical and creative thinking to understand, visualize, describe, and develop courses of action to explore and solve unfamiliar problems and approaches
Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading Joint Planning Teams at the Unified Command level
Service experience in conventional forces
a Master s degree
Army School of Advance Military Studies graduate
Applicant selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet the requirements to be eligible for a Top Secret clearance for access to classified information
