Currently, we are seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join our Retirement Solutions Division in Newport Beach, California. The Retirement Solutions Division leverages its strengths in product development, technology, service and risk management to create retirement solutions for individuals, families, and businesses. With the guidance of financial professionals, customers have access to an array of annuities and mutual funds designed to help grow assets and to provide retirement income for financial independence.
Performs Desktop Support using individual judgment and initiative with minimum supervision and direction.
Responds to potential or identified desktop, laptop, and mobile device failures and resolves outages, performance problems, or integrity problems of routine and moderate complexity using standard procedures and established guidelines.
Experience supporting current Microsoft, Macintosh operating systems, and Office productivity software and Active Directory.
Rebuilds existing or installs desktop, laptop, or mobile devices. Configures services, device settings, and monitoring capability in accordance with standards and operational requirements.
Maintains the environment according to company standards, industry best practices, and directives received from senior personnel and management.
Assists in the design of technical solutions.
May participate in projects and break-out teams.
Fosters a collaborative and team oriented work environment.
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
*At least 7 years progressive experience in a Desktop Support role supporting current Microsoft, Macintosh operating systems, and Office productivity software and Active Directory.
*Proven experience supporting Citrix environment from end user experience perspective.
*Deep troubleshooting experience (network, desktop, application, mobile, user experience).
*Active Directory experience administering user accounts and profiles.
*Will accept 5-7 years of experience in lieu of a Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
*Proven experience providing customer service in an IT environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Must have knowledge of current business-class desktop/laptop hardware and related equipment.
*Must have a solid understanding of networking and security principles (protocols, routing, firewalls).
*Experience with mobile devices (iOS).
*Automation experience is a plus (PowerShell, Chef, Puppet).
*Experience with collaboration tools (Skype for Business, GoToMeeting).
*Must thrive in a collaborative work environment and have the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
*Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks relating to multiple initiatives at any given time.
