Responsibilities:The successful candidate will join the Energy Division of Tyco Electronics as a high voltage research scientist. He/she will participate in new product and advanced development projects as a team member or a project leader.Requirement:Responsibilities:
- Interact with the customers, sales and product management organizations to acquire and process voice of the customer, compile requirements and convert them into product specifications.
- Interact and develop a close relationship with the operations, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and legal organizations as part of the process of product development.
- Own specific design aspects within assigned projects.
- Provide expertise and consultation to a host of other projects within this area of expertise.
- Read, interpret and apply different relevant industry standards.
- Participate in national and international standards committees. Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years experience or M.Sc. with a minimum of 10 years in Electrical Engineering.
- The successful candidate must have a working experience in modeling and design of different insulation systems (gas, liquid or solid insulation).
- The individual must have a working knowledge of insulation behavior and physics of discharge. Experience with network analysis software (e.g. EMTP,P-SPICE, etc.) and electric field calculation software (Electro, Coulomb, ANSYS etc.) is an asset.
- The ideal candidate would have demonstrable working knowledge in high voltage testing and measurement systems and familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards, utility/industrial markets, and HV cable accessories up to 245kV.
- Must be proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
- LDFSS training a plus.
- Domestic and international travel will be required.
- The successful candidate must be independent, motivated, organized and resourceful with excellent communication and skills to work with maximum effectiveness within a team.
