Job Description

Diagnostic Sonographer II - Perinatal Ultrasound

This is a regular, hourly, variable, day shift position, 0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week. This position is eligible for employee benefits.

Scale begins at $33.09 per hour. Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience.

Premiums: Evening - $1.75/hr, Night - $2.50/hr, Weekend - $2.50/hr

Performs a variety of sonographic examinations relating to high-risk OB patients. Expectations also include assisting the radiologist and/or perinatologist during invasive procedures. Makes a clinical judgement of the patient's condition, based on information obtained from the referring physician, medical records, patient interview and personal assessments.
Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program and is board eligible or RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) in OB/GYN.

RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) in OB/GYN and Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound required. BLS certified.

Two years experience as an ultrasound technologist, with one year of high-risk OB experience.

Must possess the understanding and ability to follow MD protocols for procedures. Understands and effectively operates all pieces of equipment utilized within the scope of this job.

Must keep current with continuing education to maintain RDMS. Must maintain CPR certification and attend applicable hospital in-services. Must also maintain an on-going practice of the requisite exams for a level 2 sonographer.
