With a team of approximately 5,000 talented and caring employees serving across the United States, DCI provides care to nearly 15,000 patients on dialysis and 3,500 patients with chronic kidney disease. We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis , home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Each position within DCI, from billers to administrators to nursing staff, contributes toward the goal of providing excellent patient care.

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Administrator, the **RN Home Training nurse** will coordinate the care and training of home therapies dialysis patients.


**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Coordinates the administrative and clinical aspects of the home dialysis program.

+ Communicates with patients and support people about standards of care at the home.

+ Assures compliance with corporate, local, state and federal requirements for home dialysis facilities

+ Participates with the management team in problem-solving patient and support people issues.

+ Participates in quality assessment and performance improvement activities in coordination with other members of the multidisciplinary and leadership teams.

+ Coordinates home training sessions, clinic visits, patient care conferences, home visits and all clinical and educational activities to assure efficient and productive use of nursing hours and program facilities.

+ Keeps informed of pertinent patient care issues in the dialysis facility and the renal community as they affect home dialysis patients and disseminates such information appropriately.

+ Provides home dialysis patients with safe and therapeutic care and serves as a role model via the delivery of that care.

+ Coordinates and participates in the completion of patients assessments and plans of care according to facility and regulatory requirements.

+ Assumes responsibility for communicating patient problems to physicians.

+ Conducts initial and ongoing patient teaching.

+ Knows and implements safe and effective infection control procedures in accordance with facility policies and procedures.)


**Education and/or Experience:**

+ Must be a Registered Nurse with at least 12 months' experience in providing nursing care.

+ At least 3 months experience in providing self care training preferred.

+ Experience in home dialysis therapies is preferred, however we are willing to train the right RN candidate.

**Certificates and Licenses:**

+ Maintain certification in CPR

+ CNN (certified nephrology nurse) certification is encouraged

+ Must possess and maintain current license in the state as a Registered Nurse

**Bloodborne Pathogens:**

Since this is a healthcare environment, there is the possibility of exposure to infectious / contagious diseases, needle sticks and blood and body fluids. Further information about this position s specific work environment and exposure category will be provided during orientation. This position is classified as Category I.
