We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis , home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Each position within DCI, from billers to administrators to nursing staff, contributes toward the goal of providing excellent patient care.



Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Administrator and/or the Daily Nocturnal Hemodialysis Program Coordinator, the **Nocturnal Observer** provides both direct and indirect patient and technical support for the Daily Nocturnal Home Dialysis (DNHD) program.



The Nocturnal Observer works within the framework of the Center as an integral member of the Renal Health Care Team. This individual monitors all DNHD patients, records runs and begins and ends treatments in a timely manner. This person participates in providing assistance with computer or treatment problems, seeking equipment technical support or nursing support as necessary.



This position is 2 days per week, 10 hour days. This position will also cover call-offs and vacation.



**Responsibilities:**



**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



+ Monitors daily nocturnal hemodialysis patients in a timely and accurate manner:

+ Records runs

+ Records beginning and end of treatments

+ Calls for nursing or technical support when necessary

+ Assists the DNHD Program Coordinator in teaching patients and their families about ESRD and daily nocturnal hemodialysis.

+ Documents patients needs and changes in condition, reports such to appropriate nursing personnel

+ Performs appropriate measures in an emergency situation

+ Assume dialysis responsibilities, as necessary, in acute situations under the supervision of the Physician Director and/or a qualified Dialysis Staff Nurse.

+ Contributes to the general care and maintenance of the dialysis center to provide a clean and safe atmosphere for the patients.

+ Ensures that the home dialysis area is clear, maintaining unobstructed circulation.

+ Must maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

+ May perform other duties as requested by the Clinical Administrator and/or Daily Nocturnal Hemodialysis Program Coordinator, Area Administrator or Medical Director.

**Education and/or Experience:**



+ A high school graduate.

+ Prior documented dialysis experience is highly desirable.

+ Experience in responding to medical emergencies are helpful.

+ Basic knowledge of electronics

+ Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software



**(Certification, Licenses, Registrations)**



+ Maintain current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association.



**Bloodborne Pathogens** :



Since this is a healthcare environment, there is a possibility of exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, hazardous chemicals and materials, needle sticks, and exposure to blood and body fluids.
