The **Dialyzer Reprocessing Technician** (Reuse Tech) is responsible for reprocessing dialyzers, providing appropriate documentation, and stocking of the chronic dialysis area.

+ Reprocess dialyzers for re-use in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications as well as AAMI standards, regulatory agencies, DCI's CQI Program, and the individual clinic's requirements.
+ Provides appropriate documentation of dialyzer reprocessing in accordance with regulatory agencies, DCI's CQI Program and the individual clinic's requirements.
+ Must be able to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
+ Knowledgable and able to implement safe and effective infection control procedures in accordance with the Clinic's policies and procedures.
+ Knows and practices procedures related to hazardous waste disposal.
+ Knowledgeable of and utilizes the occurrence reporting system in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Clinic.
**Education and/or Experience:**
+ High School diploma or GED; related experience preferred
+ Must successfully complete DCI's comprehensive dialyzer reprocessing training program.
+ Must frequently lift and or move up to 100 lbs.
+ Candidate must be at least 21 years of age, and is required to maintain a valid driver s license and acceptable driving history approved by DCI or Dialysis Clinic, Inc.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
DCI employees are expected to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of paper and electronic protected health information DCI creates, receives, transmits, and maintains. This is accomplished by following the policies and procedures in the HIPAA training required for all employees.
Since this is a healthcare environment, there is a possibility of exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, hazardous chemicals and materials, needle sticks, and exposure to blood and body fluids. Further information regarding this position s specific work exposure category will be provided during orientation. This position is classified as Category I.
