The Registered Dietitian (RD) will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice as defined by the Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards. The RD will evaluate the nutritional status and formulate nutrition care plans for patients ordered nutrition consults and/or patients determined to be at nutrition risk during the nutrition screening process. The RD will effectively communicate plans for nutrition care to other health care providers. The RD will write and implement nutrition care orders in accordance with the medical staff approved practice guidelines as outlined in the Medical Nutrition Therapy policy and procedure. The RD actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered. The RD will use the Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety and assure continuous quality improvement. The RD provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital s mission statement.



* BS degree in Nutrition.

* Successful completion of a Dietetic Internship approved by the American Dietetic Association.

* Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Tennessee.

* Registered by the American Dietetic Association within 6 months of hire date.
